Sylvander Heating:
Family Owned for Over 80 Years!

1930	NB Sylvander, at age 23, started Sylvander Heating in a renovated chicken coop in Red Wing, MN. Selling furnace cleaning services door-to-door, NB grew the business and needed to expand by adding an addition.
1956	Dale Thompson, NB Sylvander’s son-in-law, joined the business and shared in management duties.
1962	Sylvander Heating started selling Lennox HVAC products and began its long relationship with the premier manufacturer.
1980	Sylvander Heating expanded its business and moved to a new building.
1988	Tom Thompson and Theresa Thompson Gillman, grandchildren of NB Sylvander, joined the family business.
1989	NB Sylvander passed away.
1997	Sylvander Heating expanded to a second location by purchasing an existing Lennox dealership in River Falls, Wisconsin.
1999	Sylvander Heating expanded again, moving into its third new building in Red Wing. Dale Thompson passed away and Tom Thompson and Theresa Gillman assumed ownership.
2005	Sylvander Heating celebrated its 75th anniversary!
2010	Sylvander Heating celebrated 80 years of success! Mayor of Red Wing, MN proclaimed July 1st as Sylvander Heating Day!
2012	Blake Thompson, Tom Thompson’s son and founder N.B. Sylvander’s great-grandson, joined the family business!
2015	Sylvander Heating celebrated its 85th anniversary!
2018	Marlene Thompson, NB Sylvander’s daughter and mother of Tom and Theresa, still comes to work every day, along with many other long-time employees; some who have been with Sylvander Heating for over 35 years!
